EA Sports Halts Development on WRC and Future Rally Titles

EA Sports has paused development on future rally titles, including WRC.

EA Sports has made a significant announcement. It has stated that it is 'pausing development plans on future rally titles' after reaching the end of its work on WRC. The recently released Hard Chargers DLC for EA Sports WRC is the final content for the game. An unspecified number of workers have been laid off from Codemasters, and others have been redistributed among ongoing EA Sports projects. Codemasters, known for its long history of rally games, was acquired by EA in 2021. Despite several updates and DLCs for the WRC game, it seems to have underperformed commercially for EA. Even though there will be no new content for WRC, the game will still be accessible to new players.
