The crash occurred around 1:45 p.m. ET when a Dodge Durango collided with a Kia Soul, which was making a left turn. Police have stated that alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash. The victims, identified as Jabari Elijah Solomon, 10, and Charlie Herbert Solomon Riveria, 4, were killed in the wreck. Several other individuals were hospitalized with serious injuries.
Investigation Ongoing
Megan Santo, the public information officer for the Largo Police Department, confirmed Hayes' involvement in the crash but did not specify if he was driving one of the vehicles. "This is an ongoing and active investigation, and no further information is available for release at this time," Santo stated.

Hayes' Freshman Season
Hayes played in 12 games for the Hurricanes during his freshman year in 2024, primarily on special teams. He recorded four tackles and one interception, which he returned for 25 yards in Miami's 56-9 victory over Florida A&M on September 7.
