Why Aaron Glenn will help Jets turnaround

The Jets have hired Aaron Glenn as their new head coach. Glenn is a former Jet who played for the team from 1994 to 2001. He is a 15-year NFL veteran who has coached for the Lions for the past four seasons.

Glenn knows what it means to be a Jet. He played for five different head coaches over his eight years in New York, and the organization has had another five since. He knows how to deal with the media circus and filter out criticism. He's as equipped to deal with that scrutiny as any 15-year NFL vet should be.

Glenn also has a lot of experience coaching in different systems. He was coached by Pete Carroll, Bill Parcells, Bill Belichick, Mike Nolan, Todd Bowles and Herm Edwards during his time with the Jets. He was then selected by the Texans, led by Dom Capers and Vic Fangio, as part of the 2002 expansion draft. With the Cowboys in 2005 and 2006, he was back under Parcells, but with Mike Zimmer as his defensive coordinator. That's also where he met Sean Payton, who would become the head coach of the Saints, for whom Glenn played in 2008. Glenn played there under secondary coach Dennis Allen, who would later employ Glenn as his defensive backs coach in New Orleans from 2016 to 2020.

Glenn has been the Lions' defensive coordinator for the past four seasons. His defenses have been very good, especially in 2024. The Lions were the team most negatively affected by injuries in 2024, but Glenn's defense was still one of the best in the NFL. His defense was top 10 in EPA per play, success rate, drive series conversion rate and points per drive allowed.

Glenn is a great coach. He is a great defensive coach, but he is also a great coach. He has learned from some of the best coaches in the NFL, and he has used that knowledge to become a great coach. He is a coach who is able to adapt to different situations and find ways to win. He is a coach who is able to develop players and get the most out of them.

The Jets are a team that is in need of a turnaround. They have not made the playoffs in 14 seasons, and they have had a lot of turnover at the quarterback position. Glenn is a coach who can help the Jets turn things around. He is a coach who can bring stability to the organization and help the Jets become a playoff contender again.

Jets fans should be excited about the hiring of Aaron Glenn. He is a coach who has a lot of experience and a proven track record of success. He is a coach who can help the Jets become a better team and a playoff contender again.
