Steph Curry Shines as MVP, Leads Shaq's OGs to Victory in NBA All-Star Showdown

Steph Curry led Shaq's OGs to victory in the NBA All-Star game, claiming the MVP title and sparking mixed reactions to the new tournament format.

At the Chase Center in San Francisco, Steph Curry once again proved why he is one of the greatest players in NBA history. Curry not only claimed the Kobe Bryant MVP trophy but also led Shaq's OGs to victory in the All-Star title game, showcasing his unparalleled skills on the court.

The 2025 NBA All-Star Game introduced a new format, featuring four teams, each coached by a basketball legend. The teams competed in a single-elimination tournament, which included two semi-finals and a championship game. Curry, at 36 years old, scored 12 points in the final, ensuring a 41-25 victory against Chuck's Global Stars.

"I had a lot of fun," Curry remarked after the game. "The intensity was definitely different than last year, a step in the right direction. It's something new, everybody is still trying to figure it out."

Shaquille O'Neal, a four-time NBA champion, coached the winning team, while Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley, and Candace Parker led the other three sides. Curry ended the competition with a total of 20 points, including 8 points in the semi-final against Candace's Rising Stars, which they won 42-35.

This victory marked Curry as the 15th player in NBA history to win the All-Star MVP more than once. The 2024 All-Star Game had previously faced criticism for its lack of competitiveness, with teams combining to score 397 points. The new format, which included playing games to a first-to-40-points basis, aimed to bring back that competitive edge.

MVP Curry praised the NBA for its innovative approach: "I think it was a good step in the right direction to reinvigorate the game in some way."

Damian Lillard of the Milwaukee Bucks, who was also on the winning team, echoed Curry's sentiments: "It was a little bit more competitive than they have been the last few years. That's the number one thing, to provide the entertainment and competitiveness on the floor."

However, not everyone was on board with the changes. Draymond Green, Curry's teammate from the Golden State Warriors and a television analyst for the event, was critical: "Ten being the best? A zero. It sucks. Awful."

Despite the mixed reviews, the 2025 NBA All-Star Game will be remembered for Curry's outstanding performance and the exciting new format that brought a fresh twist to the annual showcase of basketball talent.
