Nathan Aspinall Triumphs in Manchester: A Night of Premier League Darts Drama

Nathan Aspinall clinched his first nightly win of 2025 in Manchester, moving into the Premier League play-off spots with a thrilling comeback against Luke Humphries.

Nathan Aspinall delivered a stunning performance at the AO Arena in Manchester, securing his first nightly win of the 2025 Premier League Darts season. The 33-year-old from Stockport overcame a 3-0 deficit to defeat world number one Luke Humphries 6-4 in a gripping final.

The Comeback

Aspinall's victory was marked by a dramatic turnaround after Humphries missed a crucial dart to extend his lead to 4-0. Seizing the opportunity, Aspinall won the next five legs consecutively, ultimately sealing the win in the 10th leg. His resilience and precision under pressure were key to his success.

Night of Records

The evening was also highlighted by a nine-darter from Gerwyn Price, his fourth in the Premier League, and an impressive 118.43 average from Humphries in the quarter-finals, the sixth-highest in PDC televised history.

Semi-Finals Showdown

In the semi-finals, Aspinall showcased his skill with a commanding 6-2 victory over three-time world champion Michael van Gerwen, averaging 101.31. Meanwhile, Humphries edged out world champion Luke Littler in a closely contested 6-4 match.

Aspinall's Reflections

"It wasn't a pretty game in the final but I have never, ever, ever been so nervous as on those last darts," Aspinall shared with Sky Sports. "I am in Manchester. What support I've had tonight. They were absolutely unreal. I wanted to win so much for the crowd."

Premier League Standings

With this win, Aspinall moved up to fourth in the standings, level on points with Price and Van Gerwen. Littler remains at the top, but his lead has been reduced to five points by Humphries.
