Brighton’s Rising Star Adam Maca, a young boxing sensation from Brighton, is poised to make his professional debut this Saturday at the iconic Madison Square Garden. At just 18 years old, Maca has already amassed an impressive amateur record of 80 fights, setting the stage for what promises to be a stellar professional career.
A Vision of the Future Maca has set his sights high, aiming to become an undisputed world champion by the age of 25. His confidence is palpable, and his dedication to the sport is evident. Unlike most teenagers who might be planning summer vacations, Maca is focused on stepping into the ring under the bright lights of one of the most famous venues in boxing.
From Amateur to Pro Maca’s journey into boxing began at the tender age of five when his mother took him to a local boxing gym. By nine, he was already sparring and developing a love for the sport. His amateur career is decorated with seven junior titles, including five national championships, and a silver medal at the IBA World Junior Championships representing Albania in 2023.
The Road Ahead Signed with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing, Maca will face Rafael Castillo in his debut fight. Castillo, a 36-year-old New Yorker with a 2-6 record, provides a fitting introduction to the professional ranks for the young fighter. Maca trains rigorously under the guidance of Dan Woledge, traveling three hours round trip from Chatham to Brighton to hone his skills.
Family Support and Confidence Maca credits his family, especially his mother and sisters, for their unwavering support and encouragement. His confidence stems from his numerous victories in the amateur circuit, where he consistently outperformed his peers.
Handling the Pressure Despite the high expectations, Maca remains unfazed. His clear vision and determination are driving him towards his goals, and he is ready to take on the challenges of professional boxing with the same fervor that has brought him this far.
