Tottenham Hotspur has been fined £75,000 by the Football Association (FA) following homophobic chanting by their fans during a 3-0 victory at Manchester United last September. The incident occurred in the 49th and 79th minutes of the Premier League match at Old Trafford.

Immediately after the game, Spurs released a statement condemning the "abhorrent homophobic chanting" as "simply unacceptable" and pledged to take the "strongest possible action" against those involved. The FA has confirmed the fine, citing "two breaches of FA Rule E21 in relation to crowd control misconduct."

FA Rule E21 governs the behavior of supporters at matches, ensuring that all fans adhere to standards of conduct that promote inclusivity and respect. This incident highlights the ongoing challenges football clubs face in addressing discriminatory behavior among their fan base.
