Emma Raducanu stages a dramatic comeback at Eastbourne, showcasing her resilience and skill as she advances to the second round.

In a gripping match at Eastbourne, British number one Emma Raducanu demonstrated her tenacity and skill, overcoming a challenging start to secure her place in the second round. Facing American Ann Li, Raducanu initially trailed by a set and a break under tough conditions on the south coast.
However, the 22-year-old turned the match around in a topsy-turvy second set, gaining momentum to finish strongly with a 6-7 (5-7) 6-3 6-1 victory. Post-match, Raducanu, visibly emotional, held back tears as she expressed her gratitude towards the supportive crowd.
"I want to thank the crowd for getting me through some really sticky moments," Raducanu shared during her on-court interview. "It really meant a lot to me and I'm really proud of how I fought back after losing the first set. It was tough, it was up and down. But from the middle of the second set I think I found another gear and another level."
Raducanu's next challenge will be against Australian teenager Maya Joint, with a spot in the quarter-finals at stake. This victory not only highlights her growing prowess on the court but also sets a positive tone for her upcoming Wimbledon campaign.
