Scotland's Powerhouse Trio Returns for T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier

Scotland's cricket squad sees the return of three key players, Oli Hairs, Bradley Currie, and Charlie Tear, as they prepare for the T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier.

Scotland's cricket team is gearing up for the T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier with the return of three pivotal players: Oli Hairs, Bradley Currie, and Charlie Tear.

Oli Hairs, known for his explosive batting at the top of the order, has been a consistent performer for Scotland. His recent form includes equalling Scotland's highest T20 score with an unbeaten 127 against Italy in July 2023. Head coach Doug Watson praised Hairs, stating, "He's a great explosive option at the top of the order."

Bradley Currie has been a standout performer for Sussex and has been a reliable asset for Scotland over the past few years. Watson highlighted Currie's fielding ability and movement as excellent, adding, "We're lucky to have his experience and his fielding ability and movement is also excellent so that's a big boost."

Charlie Tear has also made significant strides, particularly in the CWCL2 matches in Dundee, and has continued to impress back at Sussex. Earlier this month, Tear scored a triple hundred for Sussex's second XI, showcasing his potential.

Scotland's recent form has been promising, with two wins in their tri-series against Nepal and the Netherlands. Watson believes the team is well-prepared for the qualifier, stating, "We are battle hardened for this Qualifier. We've had a number of high quality games over the last couple of months, so we are ready to go."

The upcoming qualifier will see Scotland face Guernsey, the Netherlands, Italy, and Jersey. With two spots available for next year's finals in India and Sri Lanka, the competition is expected to be fierce. Watson emphasized the importance of precision in all three departments of the game, adding, "We are still keen to be more precise in all three departments of the game."
