Greg Taylor Opens Up on Celtic Departure Amid Kieran Tierney Return Speculations

Greg Taylor discusses his departure from Celtic, addressing rumors about Kieran Tierney's return and his new journey with PAOK.

Greg Taylor has recently spoken out about his decision to leave Celtic and join PAOK, dismissing claims that the return of Kieran Tierney influenced his move. The 27-year-old defender emphasized that his departure was a personal choice to seek new challenges rather than a reaction to potential competition for his position.

Competition and Motivation Taylor, who has been with Celtic for six years, highlighted that competition for his place was a constant during his tenure. 'I think there's been competition for my place at Celtic in the whole six years I was there and it was not something I ever shirked from,' Taylor told Sky Sports. He expressed that such competition drove him to perform at his best and was a significant factor in his development as a player.

Decision to Leave Describing the decision to leave Celtic as 'the biggest decision' of his career, Taylor reflected on his journey from Kilmarnock to becoming a key player for Celtic. 'I was lucky to go and play 200-plus games for Celtic, which was unbelievable,' he said. However, he felt it was the right time to explore new opportunities and continue his career in Greece with PAOK.

New Chapter with PAOK Taylor revealed that the prospect of playing in a competitive league and being part of PAOK's 100-year anniversary was a compelling reason for his move. 'It's going to be a real special season. The best way to make it special is by winning something and that something being the league,' he expressed with enthusiasm about the upcoming challenges.

Looking Ahead Despite leaving behind the chance to play in the Champions League, Taylor is optimistic about his future with PAOK. He is focused on contributing to the team's success and making the anniversary season memorable by aiming for the league title.

Taylor's move marks a new chapter in his career, filled with aspirations and the determination to succeed in a new environment.
