Rangers on the Verge of Securing Key Transfers: Djiga and Aasgaard in Focus

Rangers are nearing major signings with Nasser Djiga and Thelo Aasgaard, as the club aims to strengthen its squad for the upcoming season.

Rangers are reportedly close to finalizing a season-long loan deal for 22-year-old Burkina Faso centre-back Nasser Djiga from Wolverhampton Wanderers. This move is seen as a strategic effort to bolster their defensive lineup ahead of the new season.

In addition to Djiga, Rangers are also expected to secure the £3m signing of Thelo Aasgaard from Luton Town. The 23-year-old Norwegian midfielder has already completed part of his medical in England and is set to join the club on a four-year deal. Luton Town has shown willingness to negotiate, although they are holding out for a fee similar to the £3.6m they paid Wigan Athletic for Aasgaard earlier this year.

Rangers head coach Russell Martin has hinted at more arrivals during the transfer window. He teased potential new signings next week, indicating that the club is actively looking to strengthen various positions.

Meanwhile, Celtic is also making headlines with their transfer activities. The transfer fee agreed with Como for winger Nicolas Kuhn is £16.5m, with add-ons still being negotiated. Celtic forward Daizen Maeda is attracting interest from several clubs, including Brentford, Fenerbahce, Tottenham Hotspur, and West Ham United, but any deal would require a fee exceeding £25m.

In other Scottish football news, Hearts are looking to bring in new players following the sale of left-back James Penrice to AEK Athens. They have agreed terms with Pierre Landry Kabore and are in talks for Sabah Kerjota. Dundee United are considering a move for former Kilmarnock striker Kyle Vassell, who has multiple options in both Scotland and England.

Aberdeen and Livingston are also active in the transfer market. Aberdeen has made an improved offer for Ajaccio winger Moussa Soumano, while Livingston aims to add another striker before the window closes.

These moves highlight the dynamic nature of the transfer market as clubs across the Scottish Premiership look to strengthen their squads for the upcoming season.
