Nottingham Forest is reportedly considering legal action against Tottenham Hotspur over their pursuit of midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White. Sources have indicated that Forest is investigating whether a specific confidentiality agreement related to Gibbs-White's £60m release clause has been breached.

BBC Sport reported that Gibbs-White was scheduled for a medical on Friday as Tottenham aimed to activate his release clause. Forest is said to be furious with Tottenham's conduct in their pursuit of the England international and insists that their threat of legal action is genuine.

Under Premier League rules, clubs are not permitted to engage with players under contract with another team without permission. Forest maintains that they have not granted Tottenham permission to speak with Gibbs-White and are prepared to take all necessary steps to prevent the transfer.

Gibbs-White joined Forest from Wolves in August 2022 for a fee that could rise to £42.5m, signing a five-year deal. He has made 118 appearances for Forest, scoring 18 goals and providing 28 assists. His international debut came as a substitute in the Nations League win over the Republic of Ireland in September.

Tottenham, meanwhile, has already secured the signing of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham for £55m this week. Gibbs-White's teammate Anthony Elanga is also close to joining Newcastle for a similar fee.
