Marinakis and Nuno: Clearing the Air for Nottingham Forest's Future
Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis and head coach Nuno Espirito Santo are set to hold crucial talks to address recent rumors and ensure the club's success.

Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis and head coach Nuno Espirito Santo are preparing for a pivotal meeting to address recent speculations and solidify their partnership. Despite rumors of a rift, both parties remain committed to the club's success.
Nuno, who took over in December 2023, recently acknowledged a shift in his relationship with Marinakis, stating, "Where there's smoke, there's fire." This came after he surprisingly criticized the club's transfer business earlier in the season. However, Marinakis has dismissed any notions of discord, emphasizing their united front.
Marinakis, who has been in Monaco for the Europa League draw, is flying back to London to meet Nuno after Sunday's Premier League clash with West Ham. He expressed confidence in Nuno's leadership, telling TNT, "Yes, he has been successful, and we have done things we have enjoyed. Now we can afford to do things that we enjoy."
He further added, "Everything is solid. We all want Nottingham to succeed. We are here in the good days but even closer in the difficult days. Personally, I don't see a problem. We are all together, united, and we'll make some corrective actions. Everything will be smooth and ready to go."
Nuno, who guided Forest to seventh place last season—their best finish in 30 years—remains steadfast in his commitment. After a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace, he stated, "It is absurd. Never," when asked if he would consider leaving. He is confident in resolving any issues and believes he will remain in charge after the international break.
"Yes, I think so," Nuno said regarding his future. "I don't know how to answer that, but I think so. I'm totally relaxed in that sense. We need to have a talk about the future of the club and what is the commitment to the club. We want the same thing—the best for Forest, that's for sure."
Both Marinakis and Nuno are focused on the upcoming match against West Ham, after which they plan to discuss the club's future during the international break. Their shared goal is clear: to ensure Nottingham Forest continues to thrive in the Premier League and beyond.
