Dan Harper Celebrates Historic Victory at Dubai 24 Hour Race

Northern Ireland's Dan Harper achieves a groundbreaking win at the Dubai 24 Hour Race with Team WRT and BMW.

A New Chapter in Endurance Racing

In an exhilarating display of speed and strategy, Dan Harper from Northern Ireland has secured his first-ever victory in the esteemed Dubai 24 Hour Race with his team, Team WRT and BMW. The 24-year-old driver showcased his exceptional talent and determination at the Dubai Autodrome, leading his team to an astounding triumph, clinching the top honor by finishing one lap ahead of the competition.

Dan Harper

Harper, who has been a rising star in the world of motorsport, has had a stellar journey through BMW's junior program, earning his place as a factory driver in 2023. This race serves as a spectacular kickoff to the endurance racing season, and for Harper, it marks the pinnacle of his racing career so far.

Joined by accomplished teammates Darren Leung, Al Faisal Al Zubair, Ben Tuck, and Max Hesse in the #777 BMW, the team exhibited remarkable teamwork, remaining competitive at the front throughout the grueling 24-hour endurance event. Their main rivals, the Porsche 911 driven by Alex Malykhin, Alexey Nesov, Harry King, and Thomas Preining, were left trailing in second place.

Harper took to social media, expressing his elation: "What a result! Brilliant driving from my team-mates, perfect strategy calls from the team, and a faultless car from BMW. I'm absolutely over the moon to get my first overall 24 Hour race win."

This victory not only represents a significant milestone for Harper but also sets a powerful tone for the remainder of the 2025 racing season. In the previous months, he had been honing his skills, recently testing the BMW LMDh Hypercar during the World Endurance Championship's rookie test in Bahrain.

Harper is no stranger to success on the track; he is a former champion of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB, and alongside Leung, he brought home titles in the British GT and GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup during 2023 and 2024. His previous highest finish in a 24-hour race was third place in the Nurburgring 24 Hours 2024, alongside teammates Hesse and Charles Weerts.

As Dan Harper embarks on this new chapter as a champion, fans and motorsport enthusiasts around the world are eager to see what he will achieve next.
