Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has publicly supported striker Adam Idah following the circulation of a video on social media that showed Idah in a compromising situation. The incident occurred during the team's day off, prompting Idah to personally call Rodgers to explain the circumstances.

Rodgers expressed his disappointment over the invasion of privacy faced by footballers, stating, "There's a sadness to it. He knows where I am in terms of the group, he knows where I'm at in terms of focus and mentality. This was on a day off."

He further criticized the societal trend of exploiting young athletes, "The sad thing for me is that a 24-year-old football player, who in his spare time can't let his hair down without someone trying to film him."

Despite the controversy, Rodgers affirmed his confidence in Idah's professionalism and readiness for the upcoming Scottish Cup semi-final against St Johnstone. He also highlighted the challenges players face in maintaining their public image, "Sadly, it's the way of the world. People will maybe go to sign an autograph or do a video and then some clown comes in and says something else in the video."
