Lotte Wubben-Moy Extends Arsenal Contract: A New Chapter for the Gunners' Star Defender

Arsenal defender Lotte Wubben-Moy has signed a new contract, reaffirming her commitment to the club and her ambitions for future success.

Arsenal defender Lotte Wubben-Moy has signed a new contract with the Women's Super League club, marking a significant milestone in her career. The 26-year-old, who has been with Arsenal since her academy days, expressed her pride and excitement about continuing her journey with the Gunners.

"I feel a huge amount of pride, excitement, and optimism to once again put pen to paper at this special football club," Wubben-Moy said. "Arsenal is the club I want to win with, and I feel this new contract comes at a time in my career where my ambitions are matched by my abilities on the pitch. I'm determined to make this next chapter count."

Wubben-Moy, a lifelong Arsenal fan, made her senior debut in 2015 at the age of 16. After a stint with the North Carolina Tar Heels in the United States, she returned to Arsenal in 2020 and has since made 143 senior appearances for the club. Her contributions have been pivotal in Arsenal's successes, including winning the FA Cup and League Cup. She was also named Arsenal's player of the season in 2023-24.

On the international stage, Wubben-Moy has earned 13 senior England caps. She was part of the Lionesses' squad that triumphed at Euro 2022 and reached the final of the 2023 Women's World Cup. Her commitment to the sport extends beyond the pitch, as evidenced by her activism for equal access to football for girls, which earned her the Charlton Award in July 2024.

Arsenal manager Renee Slegers praised Wubben-Moy's development and her importance to the team. "We're so happy that Lotte has signed a new contract. Lotte is a top defender who has shown significant progression in recent years, and will continue to play an important role as we pursue our shared goal of competing for the highest honours in the game."

Clare Wheatley, the club's director of women's football, highlighted Wubben-Moy's journey and her role as a role model. "We're very proud of Lotte's journey from our academy to our first team, through to this new contract here with us. Lotte is a wonderful role model for all young players - an example of how hard work, strong values, and determination are the platform for success. We know that she will continue to give all of herself to Arsenal Football Club, both on the pitch and of course in her consistent support of our wider community."

As Wubben-Moy embarks on this new chapter, her dedication and passion for the game continue to inspire both her teammates and fans alike. Her story is a testament to the power of perseverance and the enduring spirit of Arsenal Football Club.
