Leicester Tigers Strengthen Squad with Strategic Signings of Hamer-Webb, Stewart, and Thompson
Leicester Tigers bolster their lineup with the acquisition of winger Gabriel Hamer-Webb, hooker John Stewart, and versatile forward James Thompson, aiming to rebuild after recent departures.

Leicester Tigers have made significant strides in strengthening their squad by securing the services of three promising players: Gabriel Hamer-Webb, John Stewart, and James Thompson. These strategic signings come at a crucial time as the team looks to rebuild following the departure of several key players.
Gabriel Hamer-Webb, a dynamic winger with a proven track record, returns to the Premiership after a successful stint in the United Rugby Championship with Cardiff. The 24-year-old, who has represented England at the Under-20 level, brings versatility and experience, having previously played for Bath and Northampton.
Joining him is John Stewart, a 23-year-old hooker who also came through the ranks at Bath. Stewart, a former England Under-20 international, has shown immense potential and is expected to add depth to the Tigers' front row.
Rounding out the trio is James Thompson, a 25-year-old versatile forward from New Zealand. Thompson, who has experience with Super Rugby teams Blues and Chiefs, moves to Leicester from Counties Manukau in the National Provincial Championship. His ability to play multiple positions in the back five will provide the Tigers with much-needed flexibility.
These signings mark the first steps in Leicester's rebuilding process after the departure of club legends Ben Youngs and Dan Cole, as well as fly-half Handre Pollard and captain Julian Montoya, following their Premiership final defeat to Bath.
The addition of Hamer-Webb, Stewart, and Thompson not only addresses immediate needs but also signals Leicester Tigers' commitment to nurturing young talent and maintaining their competitive edge in the Premiership.
