Premier Sports Secures Extended Scottish League Cup Broadcast Rights Until 2031

Premier Sports extends its Scottish League Cup broadcasting deal until 2031, ensuring continued coverage and enhancing football viewership.

Premier Sports has recently announced a significant extension of its broadcasting rights for the Scottish League Cup, securing coverage until 2031. This extension, which adds four more years to the existing agreement, ensures that the tournament will continue to be known as the Premier Sports Cup.

In addition to the League Cup, Premier Sports has also secured rights to broadcast a minimum of four matches from the Challenge Cup, now rebranded as the KDM Evolution Trophy. This move is part of a broader strategy to enhance the visibility and appeal of Scottish football.

SPFL Chief Executive Neil Doncaster expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "This is brilliant news for Scottish football. We place great value on our long-standing partnership with Premier Sports, and this extension is a testament to the strength of our collaboration."

The Premier Sports Cup group stage kicks off this weekend, with Hearts taking on Dunfermline Athletic in a highly anticipated match on Saturday. Notable teams such as Celtic, Rangers, Hibernian, Dundee United, and Aberdeen have received a bye to the last 16 due to their European commitments.

This extended partnership not only benefits fans by ensuring continued access to high-quality football coverage but also strengthens the financial and promotional support for Scottish football clubs. The collaboration between Premier Sports and SPFL is poised to bring more exciting football action to viewers over the next decade.
